Almost every concept we use in our lives outside of things like hunger, thirst, sex drive, etc., is artificial. It’s how we live in a society. We just have to try to agree on the concepts we feel are acceptable and which are too far or not far enough.

I agree with all of this. I did, however, know the word before it started being debated, but I also have been a voracious reader since I was a kid, so I probably had a higher chance of coming across it. I never used it, though, because it’s really clunky as well as sounding like the n word.

Under Trump, hospitals were begging for PPE for their workers. Under Trump, cities were using refrigerated trucks to house the dead. Under Trump, people listened to him and decided not to get the vaccine and instead to take bunk medicine (which then led to them doing it again later.)

I remember watching the first episode of Friends and thinking, “That’s that girl from the comedy skit show!” So, when I found out later that she had auditioned for SNL, it didn’t surprise me. 

The difference is, those teenagers are not being pushed by their parents to do any of that. As a matter of fact, they are likely going through things that all teenagers go through and using the mediums at their disposal to figure it all out.
