Dang, I was a traitor, too. I listened to most genres (although New Wave was my first love, if you don’t county my parents’ 50s and 60s 45s that my sister and I made up dances to.) I definitely went through a hair band phase.

Al inherited it from Lawrence Welk (who is also famous for big band music, but the man played a mean accordian.
The county our state fair is in (possibly state laws, but the sheriff does the enforcing, so maybe county laws) is very strict about this stuff and we still have something happen once every couple years at our state fair.
Somewhere between 30 and 40 I stopped being able to ride spinning rides, like the Tilt-A-Whirl, and side to side rides like the ship one (sometimes it’s a pirate ship, sometimes it’s a viking ship.) They make me sick to my stomach.
You’re thinking of what is often called the Castle Doctrine—you have no obligation to flee your home rather than shoot an intruder.
The fact that we spend the first three or four months with shortages of toilet paper and other items in the grocery stores proves your penultimate sentence is a lie.
And, most of the masks that were available were the N95 ones that the medical personnel needed to protect themselves. Once we got to a point where surgical masks (and homemade masks) were more widely available, they then said to wear a mask but not an N95 mask, because those were still in short supply and the main…
Add this to the book. I’m loving your comments.
If you wrote a book on this, I would totally read it.
I agree it would be weird. I’m probably wrong. I’m glad I’m not the only one who heard it that way, though.
I feel like no matter the motivation (and I don’t disagree with you on his motivation) him saying this will get people who were hesitant to go get the vaccine (and it pains me that he has any influence, but he does.) So, I’m not going to dump on him for it. I won’t praise him, but I won’t dump on him.
I mean, it’s bad enough they won’t wear a mask, but why on earth do they care if someone else is wearing one? Other than the fact that they feel the need to control everyone and everything.
The Tuls City Council decided to make a statement urging people to wear masks (because they wanted to make a mask mandate, but people flipped their lids.) So, there were people outside protesting that said just the statement suggesting people wear masks infringed on their rights. Then the same guy said, “Your rights…
My mom and gramma like to watch Wheel of Fortune. I do this to them all the time (although sometimes Mom and I solve it together--she gets one part and I get the other.) Sometimes I wonder if they get annoyed by me saying the answer before they get it.
Ryan Reynolds has (had?) a game show that he didn’t host, but he did funny and sarcastic voiceovers on. The show itself was blah, but his jokes were pretty funny.
There’s already so much about him that is unearthed, it doesn’t matter if there are still things buried.
I love him on To Tell the Truth. Him and his momma. She floors me. And everyone seems to be having a lot of fun on there. (And I hate game shows, mainly because the audience is so loud, but I can tolerate this one.)
My mom says this every time! Some of them are smart and say, “Do not use if you are allergice to any of the ingredients in X.” Makes more sense. (Also, I feel like if you know you are allergic to something, your doctor should know and not prescribe you something with that in it.)
Sometimes the potential side effects are way worse than the issue the medication treats. And then there are those medications that have side effects that are also the symptomes of the condition they treat. (There’s one for Crohn’s or some other gut condition that has a side effect of upset stomach and diarhea. Ummm...)
Ooh, I remember ads for drugs that gave no inkling of what they were for. I forgot all about that. That was probably a lot more annoying for doctors, because they probably had a lot of patients asking about drugs for conditions they didn’t have.
