You lot would be bashing her if she had gone ahead and competed but screwed up and caused her team to not medal at all. Besides the possibility of a serious physical injury, that’s what she was trying to avoid. Her stepping down created a situation where the US was able to get the silver instead of not medaling at all.

I mean, *she* said it was her mental health, so I think I’m going to believe her. (Mental health doesn’t have to mean some kind of serious mental illness. It could be severe stress, anxiety, even depression.)

OK, let’s say she tried and she screwed up on every apparatus. Not so much that she hurt herself physically, but just like she did on the vault. Now, USA doesn’t even get bronze. Her stepping aside and letting the fourth teammate take over for her *was* her thinking of her team. Because she knew she wasn’t going to do

It *was* being talked about. Just, a lot of people were ignoring it because they didn’t want America’s Dad to be that person.

Thank you. People are making me feel like I’m Mandelaing my knowledge of the allegations.

I love the parade of nations and I want to see all of them! I don’t want to cut away to see USA just waiting. Without that, they would have had time to show all the ones that came in during commercials when they actually came in. I mean, it’s not like it was live, so they could have edited that out.

I feel like (and this may just be the way they do it for the team competition) I’m seeing a lot fewer countries in gymnastics. Like, I remember seeing several countries in the past. This time, just USA and ROC (I didn’t watch the qualifiers, just the team competition.)

I was very grossed out about all the speculation and then questions by the NBC people during the broadcast last night. (And the serious overdramatizing by the announcers.)

How did you feel about all the stuff Prince did in the 80s and 90s? You know, the assless pants, the dancers behind him simulating sex quite graphically, Darling Nikki?

If it was a physical injury that caused this, people wouldn’t be saying this.

I feel like people wouldn’t be saying this if she had physically injured herself on that vault and that was why she pulled out.

Well, if Biles had been on her A game, then I think USA would have clinched the gold. Until the one USA gymnast fell on the floor (I forget which one it was) it was super close and just the difficulty level of Biles’ routines would have put them way over the ROC had she performed as usual.

First, she isn’t necessarily out for the whole Olympics. Second, while it sucked, it is better for her to have bowed out than to have, at best, messed up enough that USA didn’t even end up on the podium or, at worst, cause herself a serious injury that would leave her out for the rest of the Olympics, leave the team

She stopped microdosing, so she stopped hallucinating.

I feel like Diane and Kurt worked before Trump and would have continued to work after Trump if he hadn’t been so seemingly OK with Trump (and borderline supporting him.) I feel like Kurt is too smart to be OK with Trump and Qanon and all that shit. Not that he would ever meet Diane on the left, just that he wouldn’t

I feel like telling a business that they can’t require proof of vaccination for someone to enter is messed up. Being unvaccinated is not a protected class. The government shouldn’t get to tell a person how to run their business outside of protected classes.

I feel like at least the Olympics could keep people from participating sans vaccine. I mean, they’re keeping people out for smoking pot once, after all.

I felt like shit for about 12 hours after the second shot and I would do it again if it meant not getting the actual virus. I’ll take boosters. I’ll get another vaccine if people don’t wake up and we need a new vaccine because of mutations (I’ll be really pissed at those people, but I’ll take the vaccine.)

It seems that the default when saying you are she/they or he/they is that you are OK with either. So, in that case, Halsey really should have specified that she is both and to use both when referring to Halsey, but not necessarily together.

Well *this* article didn’t even use “she” until the very end. I was paying attention because I assume if Halsey wants both pronouns to be used, then Halsey would get mad if “she” wasn’t used, also. Not until the very end did they use “she” and only once.
