That part felt sad to me, too.

My brother-in-law showed me pictures of Tehran, his home, and I was similarly startled: it's surrounded by mountains and is quite lovely. We always only see desert and bombed-out buildings but that region is stunning.
OT: Is there an autobiography, biography or any non-fiction book that doesn't have a colon in the title? It's become such a cliche'.
But you kicked it off!!
Oh, you won't get an argument from me; she should have shown an abundance of caution and didn't. I hope she survives because this is a horrible disease but she should be deeply reprimanded and ashamed for this choice.
You know, it was weirdly mellow. He was feverish and droopy and punky but he still was able to kind of function fairly normally. He missed school, of course, but didn't lay in bed moaning, which is what I always associate with a flu. He just took it like the chill 2nd grader he was (that year, he played the Wizard in…
I think Gwyneth is also fairly intelligent. People might not like her and she may be sophisticate-twee but she isn't stupid.
Yeah, it seems that Jessica Alba said to herself, "I have babies now and as a mom, I would like my babies and other babies and parents to have this type of product. It speaks to me personally and is easy on the environment and I feel good selling it."
I thought a man's job was to fluff up his mustache or take a bath in Drakkar Noir...
In other thread, I mentioned that her supervisors should have made it very clear how dangerous it was and should have asked her to stay home so yeah, they should have done their job. The whole thing is a mess.
Agree for the most part but my understanding is that she went TO Cleveland without clearance and only called the CDC in her way back and also that she wasn't wearing protective gear for the first couple of days of treating Mr. Duncan. She left after the first nurse became infected, IIRC, which should have been a huge…
Ebola is not contagious unless the infected person is actively symptomatic and the CDC didn't create the 100.4 temperature threshold; that is the medical standard f what a fever is. Ebola is also not airborne, unlike the flu. Having said that, she shouldn't have gone and her hospital, Dallas County, the CDC, her…
Finding day care early on is one of the most stressful things a parent can go through: trust, cost, convenience, safety, illness, you name it. I will say that my son rarely gets sick now (though he did get H1N1).
Stories like this make me even more pissed off when young women refuse to call themselves feminists. THIS is why feminism is still (and was then!) relevant.
Grrrrr...
You know, on TV back in the 50s, actors weren't allowed to say "pregnant". Watch old "I Love Lucy" episodes!
Yeah, my son didn't get sick until two weeks after he started day care at six months. Then, it was like clock work: once a month.
Not only that, you'd think he would be kind of nice about having a baby in the courtroom. I know it's "the law" and everything but it's not a murder trial. To me, it seems like kind of a sweet diversion.
Without even reading the article, I knew it was a male judge. URGH. Society holds mothers up as these paragons of virtue then tear them down when they want to fulfill their career or educational goals. Disgusting.
