You are absolutely right about the non-racist tweets; they had no business being lumped in with the others. And I plead ignorant about the DVR; I'm not sure why I assumed it would be aired entirely to even be DVRed but even still, it is just a football game. I lost a friend suddenly this weekend and I was already raw…
I agree with you on that point.
Since you created a burner account with an insulting handle, I choose to not answer your question.
Yes, I agree with you that several of them had no racist undertone. I misunderstood your comment, I guess.
What? Seriously?! None of those guys looked like poverty cases. Please.
I have to believe that there are plenty non-black people who would be willing to kick their asses, as well. But point well taken.
Please know that most Americans are not like this...at least I hope.
I agree. I half-jokingly told my husband that I want to move to London. The ratio of not-joking to joking is increasing daily. I love America but I am fed up right now. (I am a big supporter of Obama, so I guess we disagree on that point.)
You've missed the point of this particular article, which was to point out the immature, racist jerks who publicly blamed the president for their inability to watch the football game. Yes, it is allowed to not to want to watch the speech but a 15 delay in the football game isn't life-ending.
This song has always made me tear up and I'm an atheist.
No, Myrna's right and you're wrong.
I just told my husband that I am ready to move to London.
I know what you mean; if/when they show pictures of the kids, I will shut down.
I have a 5th grader and I keep thinking of his kindergarten school portrait and how tiny he was back then. It hurts so much to think of those tiny children and the anguish their parents will feel for the rest of their lives.
I know. I have a 5th grader who was invited to sleep over at a friend's house tonight. I told the mom that I needed to come to school anyway to give him a hug.
Your daughter is beautiful and funny and you are terrific parents. Thank you for writing this; I laughed out loud many, many times.
I had a 2001 XC70. Still miss it. Felt all-powerful.
I have spoken to two people-one an ER doc-who are convinced they survived massive collisions only because they were driving Volvos. We had two but bought a Prius (15 mpg is tough to stomach day and day out). I would buy another Volvo in a heartbeat if they could improve their fuel economy.
