I think there is a reasonably amicable way to divide up America, and that’s to pretty much split into “Cali + North + New England” and “everywhere else” and have an initial agreement that both countries will, for a period of time, support people who dislike living in their now new country…

Fascism is an ideology from the darkest pits of hell, but I agree that tribalism is probably going to doom democracy. People can’t work well together en masse for long without a unified culture. I'm more a fan of "let's all make our own individual democratic countries" though. Fuck fascism.
