Everything written by Sidney Sheldon is fantastic. Including “I Dream of Jeannie.” (Yes, those phenomenally bestselling novels were a side gig; he also had a long and lucrative Hollywood career.)

“The Best of Everything”! Love the movie, love the book even more. I think it’s a bit of an intertext to “Mad Men.” In fact, Don and Betty Draper see the movie early in the first season, and Betty talks about Joan Crawford’s character. Younger Betty could have slipped into the book easily, at least as a minor…
Has anyone seen The Best of Everything (1959)? Similarly romantic and lurid. I rented it last week and was so enthralled by the soundtrack I finally tracked down a limited edition on Film Score Monthly. Meltingly romantic, with an aching, starry-eyed theme song by Johnny Mathis.
“Scruples” was the SHIT.
I don’t care what you say. Huckabee-Sanders was amazing in “Young Frankenstein”
I don’t know if I should feel stupid or blessed that I legitimately thought I was about to read an article about how Kodak film is shit at capturing darker skin tones. I totally thought that Kodak Black was going to be Kodak’s version of the actual color black on some sort of RGB scale or something.
One sure sign this is correct: every single person (read: psycho) that has an inspirational quote in their email signature uses some odd ass font for the quote. Exponential crazy.
Chip is a douche. Forever and ever. Amen. I hope all their kids grow up to be extremely liberal and do their due diligence to FULLY EMBRACE their Asian background. I have a feeling they get no education on that at home. At all.
I still cannot wrap my head around Waco being any sort of tourist destination. I was speaking to this Australian and after mentioning I went to college in Austin, she was like “oh! By Waco, I’ve been there.”
I do have to say that it does bother me that the standards for being on air network talent are apparently higher than being President of the United States. But that a problem with voters not network tv.
Charter schools piss me off and this bullshit is just one reason. I’m all for providing alternative methods of instruction, some kids don’t flourish under the standard model, but the should all be under the school board.
A mentally unstable real estate tycoon swoops and defunds the clinic. :(
Heartbreaker is considered one of the best rock albums of the last 20 years. He is an incredibly prolific musician who at times headlines not one but three acts, who makes really good music. How about “Says the man whose most notable feats known to me are being married to and divorced from a revived Mandy Moore.”
The only thing you “didn’t mean to do” was get caught being an asshole and being held accountable.
It’s always a lose-lose. You’re shamed for not doing anything about your weight; you’re shamed when you try to do something about it.
Also, the fact that her defence attorney referred to the woman as ‘the victim’. Bitch, even your lawyer is having a hard time defending you.
Spending the day golfing is the best gift he could give her. I mean you can’t have a “wonderful day” with him around.
Wow, she sounds like a real headcase! Thanks for the tip—I must to read this book! :)
You should read her autobiography. It’s fantastic. She practically thinks she should have won every Tony she’s been nominated for and has beef with Barbra Streisand because she recorded the big songs from Sunset Boulevard before she did. And I think she even has an issue with Meryl Streep, but can’t remember why.
She’s dead behind the eyes. She couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag. She should not be on film or on stage
