It’s a shitty metaphor and it’s based on a premise that simply isn’t true. People get a ton of shit for jumping ship. It’s just that far fewer people have a fuck to give about it.

Well when the news broke I couldn’t really play the video so I read the transcript. And then it wasn’t really necessary so I didn’t seek it out.
That is a good point, and really I can see how my comment could be interpreted as defending Trump when really it was defending comedy about touchy subjects.
Yeah, I haven’t actually seen the video so I can’t comment on the tone, but there are jokes like this that come off as harmless and funny (e.g. the Nasty Show with Artie Lange, which is hilarious if you like dirty jokes) and jokes that are super-uncomfortable and don’t seem to be jokes.
Well in 1998 “bitch is lying” was a credible and perfect defense for a rich person (e.g. Bill Clinton) accused of sexual assault/rape. But I’m sure that all of the people who said those accusations were politically motivated won’t completely flip the script now.
Really? I’m an attorney and most of my left-leaning Hillary-supporting male attorney friends say shit like this (not exactly this, but jokes about sexual assault aren’t off the table). Of course these are close friends. I’ve never heard anyone say this in a professional setting or with people they barely know. That…
None of that would have been necessary if you took the reasonable advice of don’t go to college in a relationship regardless (and preferably don’t get into one your first couple years).
And yet if you click around you will see many many people reading this as implicating Rose.
There is literally no connection between the murder and Derrick Rose. And the article doesn’t even include a token “there is no connection as of yet.” Don’t be dense.
Well not being friends with Aaron Hernandez isn’t a bad life choice.
Reminds me of the 23 year-old non-New Englanders telling me “we’ve been waiting 100 years [sic] for this” when actually they jumped on the bandwagon 1-2 years before. Not that the 23 year-olds from Boston were much better (or had been fans any longer).
So you can’t read. Cool.
Trump didn’t call for her assassination you dummy. At worst he joked about it. Just like this fucking game isn’t calling for Trump’s assassination. You are really doing a nice job about doing the very thing you’re complaining about. I’m legit impressed.
You absolutely should be able to, but this isn’t a good analogy, because Rose is saying he avoids the possibility of becoming a “victim.” What you are doing is the equivalent of him trusting these semi-strangers are on the pill.
Sounds a lot like victim blaming to me. Men (and women) should be free to engage in any consensual sexual act they want with whoever they want, full stop.
This story really reinforces that I don’t give a shit about this issue. It does highlight exactly what people mean when they use the term “virtue signaling.” I’m sure most Indians would prefer the betterment of their communities with more education and employment opportunities than white folks making a point about…
How is that irresponsible? Did James Dobson sign in to Deadspin?
The blackmail question is either the bed, commode or couch depending on where you typically masturbate. No reason to make the question more difficult than that.
Why would they trade either? Dak was drafted to be the backup/quarterback of the future. He looks like he could very well be that. At the same time, Romo is a very good quarterback with (more importantly) a long track record. Dak could end up being great, but RG3, Colin Kaepernick, Josh Freeman, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt…
If I had to choose between being stabbed 7 times in the face and head or shooting someone, well I hope that guy likes bullets.
