Spill that tea! Wow, dick move, patriot. Sell out your family and your nation. Based on this synopsis, Churchill had  point. ty for the knowledge.

Thank you! As someone who suffered Hyperemisis through 3 pregnancies, calling it morning sickness makes my blood boil.

At some point, having great hair just isn’t enough.

I’ve always been of the opinion that Pippa made out like a bandit. Being the sister to the future queen, she had the cachet to nab an uber-wealthy husband and can probably get any job she wants, plus she can live a much more normal life than her sister. Maybe Kate is totally suited to the life she leads, but being

I don’t think any of us can really say if Kate is a good person. Frankly, the reality of her position makes it almost impossible that she’s a particularly good person.

In Britain, what class you are is not about money, but about bloodlines. Doesn’t matter how rich her parents are, they’re not “upper class.”

Well Katie will be waiting a while yet - there is a lot of longevity in that family so Charles could hang around for years to come. Although I must say that every picture that I see of him, he is an alarming shade of red.

Kate didn’t have “morning sickness,” she had hyperemesis gravidarum.

Is that really a conspiracy theory at this point?

I just said this in another comment.

I don’t know. It seems Catherine did have some but not full independence growing up and just preferred the comfortable gilded cage so when it came to the royals she decided she would be willing to dance the tune to have it. It’s not like Diana, who bought into the romance and never checked the small print (which makes

Yeah, I definitely thought it odd too. And wondered if it reflected how Americans vs. Britons perceived class and money. Because here in the US, the Middletons would *clearly* be classified as upper class on a socio-economic level. They were never people that had to be concerned about the mortgage.

This, this, this.

anyone referring to Kate’s upbringing as “solidly middle class” is delusional. Her and pippa lived an apartment that cost millions of dollars after graduating and literally did nothing but be ya know “socialites.”

British social hierarchy still puts “never having to work” as the desired endgoal. So if you’re born and can live off an inheritance it’s a sign your family is worth something.

I’m struck by how similar the public presentation of Kate & Ivanka is. The polished photos, the nods to causes, the careful use of their children as props at this stage, etc.

She has always been “every inch the graceful and stoic royal”, but my goodness, she looks more miserable with every passing year.

Bizarre how her mother was made fun of when she started a company that made an absolute fortune (not even close to an easy task) while the people ridiculing her had everything handed to them from the outset and some generations at that.

“Her public image—not Kate the person, but the figure of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, future Princess of Wales and eventual Queen Consort—is synonymous with a very specific, very white vision of motherhood.”

Kate ticks all the same boxes that made women appealing to the masses two centuries ago. She never complains. She always makes sure to look her best. She rigorously watches her weight. She makes sure she does whatever the Firm tells her to with a smile. She ignored the philandering before and after her marriage.
