I never claimed to; actually, you’re the one claiming to know their history and that they’re all “fucked up.” And I would bet my next paycheck that I’ve personally dealt with a lot more than you have.

“inhumane treatment and literal over-running them”

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Racers are very very rare in shelters because there are so many groups that take the dogs directly from the track. If a racer was in a shelter, it was in someone’s home in between. How did your shelter get all these greys that you have such deep experience with?

Now the “cull” them by adopting them out early. The group I worked with gets really young “fail outs” all the time.

With how many retired greyhounds?

You seem to know jack shit about the breed other than this neighbor whose dogs you met once. Meanwhile everyone else here who’s actually lived with them is tell you that’s not how the breed is. But by all means let’s take your anecdote about dogs that aren’t even yours as The Truth.

There’s some airtight logic.

Yep, she “learned” about all that on the internet at 16 years old. And you parroted it on the same internet like it’s Gospel.

Sure, but most greyhounds aren’t coming out of abusive situations, so I’m not sure how that statement applies here.

Our first grey stole sushi off the coffee table the first night we had him; he didn’t have a lot of trouble jumping right in.

It’s not really similar at all, but sure.

I’m calling bullshit, not necessarily in defense of race tracks but because this gives the dogs a bad name. They might have trouble with understanding stairs and furniture, and many of them are not small-animal safe, but that’s a far cry from “truly fucked up.”

That’s extremely odd given my experience with probably over a hundred different greys. They are competitive when running but I’ve never seen them turn on each other, and certainly not as a regular occurrence as you imply.

A lot of people in the greyhound adoption community hate her and Grey2K.

Great article.

Roast pork is the best sandwich, and DiNic’s is not bad at all.

The correct answer is John’s Roast Pork.

It was a ridiculous concept in the first place, but that never made sense to me. All that did was play to his strength. Making courses shorter would have worked better.

Normally, someone putting out your burning car would be a big favor.  Unless these workers were volunteers, they were being paid to be there and extinguish fires, which is pretty much literally the opposite of a “favor.”
