Exactly, Tesla came out of nowhere and right now, their closest competition has been a $100k Porsche. 

The average American commute is a total of 32 miles per day.

I wish people would stop pretending like they need more range. Hell, 100 miles on battery is more than enough for 90% of Americans’ daily use.

Most laughable is the bit about long-term battery health as if Audi gives a fuck about reliability outside of their warranty.

I’m glad they did the experiment. Yes, it didn’t work, but that’s why it was an experiment. Some limitations were known - efficiency, sub-optimal sunlight, etc. Many of the variables were unknown - resin durability, tire noise, etc. The test was conducted, results derived. This is a win IMO.

Only the most hubristic of people think this couldn’t happen to them. I am generally against charging these cases unless you can prove the child was forgotten on purpose. These parents suffer so greatly after. It’s harrowing.
