lol. It depends a lot on what the format of the course. You guys just pick the ONLY one (out of a couple of set-ups) where they do high speed drift in japan which is just one long corner. (They NEED that initial entry speed to keep the drift going the entire long ass corner) Go look at the ones with multiple corners

Well, In the U.S. Formula drift RARELY has anything over 100mph entry since they're basically only given a 200-250ish yard start-up before the first corner...... and that slows down to 60 mph usually by the 2nd corner depending on how the course is set-up and even slower afterwards...

2.8 seconds is a lot of time for a course that's only 1:15-1:20~ that's what. roughly 3.5% slower?

Well, good catch lol.

Wait what? ._.

Well, if they're keeping it for 10 years, they probably won't have the money to trade it in for a new car at 5-6 years down the road... and they might just be keeping that sucker until the engine dies or something... The car can still get a pretty decent gas mileage even if the battery does die. and if they're keeping

Well, the Autonomous cars now have a shit ton of sensors to be able to "see" the road... the cross communication thing will never work unless all the manufacturers decide to adopt a common system... which probably won't happen because every manufacturer will push their own system for doing so.

So... what's new about Journalists being stupid and not understanding new tech... But ya... most people people do look at driving as a menial task cause they get boring cars and just use it to commute...

But is the ELR 75k before rebates sexy lol. (I think it's being marked down to like 55k now cause they couldn't sell any though... according to some reports, there's over 2000 of them sitting on the lots and they only moved like a total of 600 so far lol.)

I'd be fine even if the thing had a 80 mile electric range... how many people drives 200 miles daily???

Not really. Tell me at which drift competition are they going over 60 mph throughout the entire course other than maybe the entry to the first and second corner. Unless the competition is over a entire lap of a track, most drift competitions doesn't even have enough room in the beginning for the car to accelerate to

Depends on what you want the car to do... Weight distribution depends HEAVILY on what you want the car to do. Adding weight instead of a rear wing is fine when you're trying to get more grip at launch and lower speeds since the wing would do jack shit. When you're drifting, depending on the angle of the drift, the

I can see the body kits doing something since they gotta fit the actual wide tires and get better air flow to the highly boosted engines they're using, (especially since they're going side ways like you're saying) but i was more talking about the aero kits and the diffusers (on the car shown) on the rear since its

So those guys are professional drivers and not just normal M235i owners? WHAT???????

What.... seriously? They reach 80ish ONLY in the first corner at Evergreen speedway, (I'm from Seattle too) they exit that corner at around 60ish... The rest of the course is mostly between 30-60... So basically the first corner they'll have a bit of downforce and then rear goes out and most of it is gone... (since

lol... at 40-60 mph, you'll make maybe 30-40 lb of downforce... you might as well as get rid of it and add some weights to the back of the car or don't strip as much in the rear... (since it'll give you more grip at the start when the spoilers do nothing but act as weights)

depends on the layout and the drivers... you don't go into that corner at 100mph every time... it's mostly in the high 80s and 90s... most of the tracks still only have about 2-4 seconds worth of straight acceleration before you hit the brakes and initiate the drift...

Ah ok, that would explain a good part of it. I was thinking formula drift where they rarely go over 60ish mph in the drifts (maybe except for the first entry) and didn't think aero kits would affect it that much.
