The Khan reveal was a disaster, it let all the air out of the entire reboot franchise. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard an entire audience groan at a plot twist like that the way they did at Cumberbatch’s “my name is Khan!” line reading.

Yeah I’m confused by that too...though I’m also one of the few who likes Quantum of Solace. To me the first two movies are great (when watched together) and everything after that is kinda garbage.

If they absolutely had to bring Khan in, I think they’d have done better to start with some sort of stealth “Space Seed” remix (possibly not even involving the Enterprise crew), then have the bit with Kirk and the volcano (which I’d forgotten was in this movie until I checked Wikipedia), and finally, let us experience

I think the problem with spectre is that its climax kind of feels like an abstract mess. Blofeld has an incredibly evil plan to do...something. He wants the nine eyes merger to happen? That will let him do...evil? I think? With Andrew Lincoln as his partner or whatever?

Everyone here seems to like Skyfall way better than I did and I’m still not sure why.

Your last line touches my soul. Into Darkness was awful, but the scene where Cumberbatch very dramatically reveals his name of “Khan...Noonian...Singh” may be among the worst offense (well, redoing the Spock death scene with Kirk just to revive him two minutes later...). The audience knows; reboot Kirk and Bones and

The movies stopped having anything to do with the books (barring a name here or there) by the mid 70s, outside of Casino Royale which stood out for how much of an anomaly it was amidst everything else.

Props for recalling any details about Spectre at all. It’s one of the most forgettable Bond movies, imo, and I think even Quantum has more memorable scenes.

This is an actual quote from one of the writers of Specter:

Much like Star Trek, every other Bond seems to be a bit of a letdown

Seems like the lesson here is you should take the time to write a good script before you start filming. Who could have imagined?

Go look at their balance sheet, cash flow and how they bought Adesa back in May/June of this year. You may get a bump in SP due to short covering, but if you hold them long term, that money is good as gone.

For you? No.

Hubris, while it’s obvious to almost everyone, it’s hubris that’s caused this. Say what you want about Elon, I think he’s a brilliant engineer. Everyone said Tesla wouldn’t succeed, but it did. Same thing for SpaceX. However, those things are engineering problems. You put enough brains on it, and it will eventually

I really hope when she got mad she didn’t say “I’m Alanis Morrisette!” as many times as you just pointed out that she’s Alanis Morrisette. I fully agree with your argument that anybody should be able to walk if something doesn’t sit right with them, but Alanis Morrisette isn’t some kind of higher being because she

What if we mail CDs to everyone in the world with a copy of the Twitter client. We then give them like 300 hours of free Twitter access and after those 300 hours we get them to pay a monthly fee.

Yeah the “1 of 4" claim is a real knee-slapper... I mean, aren’t all Passats silver?

Alarmingly described in retrospect as a ‘test bed’ for later W12 and W16 engines”

A 16 year old 190k mile VW with an extremely complex and insanely rare drivetrain, an open exhaust “for sound” (for a CEL more likely), and wheels TBD, what could possibly be or go wrong?

1 of 4 silver on black W8 passats for the 2004 model year? I doubt that’s true, but if it is I wouldn’t brag about it being the color of 78% of passats out there.
