I know I saw Blue, White and Red and I remember I liked them but I have no memory whatsoever of them now. So your post probably will prompt a rewatch.

I think Jackie Brown was the best movie of the '90s.

The Juke did one thing well: provided cheap basic transportation. Agreed on Xterra and Pathfinder.

The Juke was an interesting car for the low end of the market. For a cheap little car it was well built and impressive. The styling was controversial but at least it wasn’t generic AF. They replaced it with this Kicks thing that looks like every other small SUV out there.

The GTI has 23 more horsepower than the Si but other than that it doesn’t offer anything significant that the Si doesn’t have. And it’s fuel economy is worse and it is significantly more expensive. And I might be wrong about this but as far as I can tell the GTI is not available with a sunroof/moonroof which comes

My experience has been different.

Or if you want to be able to see out of your vehicle and have normal doors get an Xterra.

What I don’t understand is what kind of new tech do they need to invest in to make EVs? The article makes it sound like there’s a shit ton of R&D work that has to be done. But electric motors are ass-simple tech that’s been around since before our grandparents were born. Regenerative braking is newer tech but they

The people saying it either don’t have a basic understanding of economics or they are lying.

Yeah my girlfriend had one of those on her car for a while. We felt it was really unsafe because many times braking hard is required for safety reasons but that thing makes you not want to brake hard.

If?

I was looking for a car for my girlfriend’s hippie daughter and I stumbled across a nice Element ($150K) with a very similar camper conversion for $10,500. It wasn’t 4WD but still.

Their cars are fine but their dealers are reprehensible.

If you put something in writing and send it to someone with whom you have no agreement about secrecy you are taking that risk. It was an insanely stupid risk for him to take. Especially considering Jane’s history. All she did was pass on his DMs, what happens after that is up to someone else.

Why don’t they just lift it slightly and tell people it’s a crossover?

ANd they’ll probably steal the Uhaul too.

They could have used old school tools that plug in and brought an extension cord. And they get to keep the tools, so it’s not like they are really out the cost of the tools.

All good points. I’m thinking maybe these guys had some kind of need for these particular wheels or they know somebody who does. But I can’t think of any plausible scenario for that. Could they have stolen these wheels because another dealer wanted/needed them?  Possible but unlikely. Or maybe it was just an insurance

Speaking as a self-employed person, they would not get us as customers. We need people who can actually answer questions and figure out the best way to deal with unusual situations. Turbo Tax can’t handle that.

So did the bill barring the IRS from ever creating a competitor program pass or not?
