Unlockable skills and tools genuinely feel worth it.”

That’s nice to hear. I don’t like games adding skill trees just for the sake of making you feel like you have an extra thing to do. More recently, I didn’t use half the shit in Spider-Man or God of War. I didn’t see any point because most of the basics did plenty

I was surprised to learn that they took over making Tenchu games when the series came to PS2 onwards, so it's not like they haven't done this before. A lot of people seem to forget that From were renowned long before they made Demon's Souls.

Dark Souls is the best JRPG that’s a non-JRPG. They actually acknowledge the internet is worth using! What a concept.

I’ve haven’t looked forward to a game the way I’m looking forward to this one in a long ass time. Probably since I beat Dead Souls and saw the first clips of Dark Souls. I love From Software’s approach and this looks like a well crafted experience.

A fellow Tenchu and Ninja Gaiden player? Nice. Didn’t think there were that many of us around. Nowdays, it seems like everyone’s main point of reference for a challenging game begins with SoulsBorne.

Man, From is so good at making fun new game concepts. They’re quickly becoming my favorite studio of all time.

ManI wish the RTS genre wasn’t such a dead duck. Easily one of my favourite franchises period, and it’s a shame nobody makes these games anymore

I’m playing Yakuza Kiwami 2 right now and I’ve literally spent a good three hours grinding up my ladies for take on the evil cabal of corporate Cabaret. Sure I have to stop an impending Yakuza war but Cabaret!

haha yeah, I’ve spent many hours with Witcher Dice and Gwent. To the point where it’s like, “Oh yeah that’s right, I have to go handle that issue with the barron’s dead daughter he’s been waiting for me for like 8 days with a shovel...

Honestly, I’ll take it one step further: stop calling bad things you like “trash” and just like own the fact that you think it’s good, especially if it’s something that’s universally considered “so bad it’s good.”

No, keep going. I LOVE the cabaret club mini-game in Yakuza 0 and I will shout it from the rooftops.

Honestly, I believe that empty feeling is because they designed a space to be a casino and were told 18 months before opening “No gambling. Build out our twice-nightly show, gift shop and buffet as much as you can, but if the budget or opening day change at all this project is no longer viable so don’t add anything we

Yea thats my only disappointment with RE2 but Iv had so much fun with it. I must of beaten it about 7 times already. I also have to do 4th survivor but now im stuck on DMC for the time.

Probably jumping back into RE2 to start my Claire 2nd run. This’ll now be my fourth time through the game, but I’m not super eager to do it at the moment. Learning part of the way through my Leon 1st run that it was going to be pretty much exactly the same as the Leon 2nd run I had just completed was a real bummer.

One of the strangest things about Anthem to me is that it seems heavily geared toward monetizing the time a core audience spends with the game since it’s otherwise so light on the type of solo/story-based content that might drive less diehard players to try it out.

Bioshock Infinite was also, like Anthem, not very good.

Man, what a mess. I don’t have any sympathy for them. The “cost of transparency” my ass. I know what he said is true, games change a lot through development. But that’s some marketing double speak akin to like “well the only problem we have is that we are TOO honest, our biggest flaw is trying to TOO GOOD!” It’s like

I mean, don’t get me wrong, the discrepancy between pre-release promos and the actual game is jarring and worthy of concern, for the sake of perspective, I’d just like to point out the all-time worst offender:

BioShock Infinite.

Can we all just agree this game was released a year early, and/or on the wrong generation of systems? Maybe Bioware / EA should’ve let it bake and released it as a launch title for the PS5 / Xbox Two.

Angry Joe said it best, EA’s games as a service model has completely failed. Yeah games change over time but most of them don’t have nearly as much development as this had.
