I don’t know why Fantastic 4 has such a big nostalgia following. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and while the comics ran, I didn’t know anyone who bought them or read them. They didn’t have a cartoon show and didn’t get movies until the 2000s, so I only knew of them when they crossed over with X-Men or something and

This supposed “much too loud” sound apparently wasn’t loud enough for his own partner, who literally asked him where this phantom sound came from. I mean, I’m literally wearing over-ear headphones right now and have no idea what you’re talking about.

The officers had reason to believe Jackson owned/possessed a firearm with a suppressor

YOU’RE NOT ON FIRE RICKY BOBBY!!!

Weenox:

That “much too loud” noise wasn’t even audible in the guys body cam.

It’s possible to have compassion for everybody in this situation, IMHO. It’s a flipping miracle the man in the back of the squad car is still alive (and possibly a testimony to the lousy marksmanship of the two officers). With someone like this officer on the force, we’re all one case of mistaken identity away from

So, uh, where’s your compassion for the guy being shot at in the car while some mentally deranged maniac shoots at them?

ptsd would definitely explain this a bit- hopefully the cop works things out.  glad to see he resigned, if you’ve got PTSD then being a LEO probably isn’t a good career.

Kudos to you for trying to find sympathy for this former officer, but I think you’ll see most cannot.  And for good reason.  An officer (former deputy) almost ended the life of a suspect, acting like judge and jury, which seems like most police want to be.  Not a good look.

Good thing he was also cuffed, haha.

So, somehow this was missed in the search before they loaded him in the car?

Easily. Officer Dumbfuck clearly demonstrated why he’s Officer Dumbfuck.

1) Then Florida police needs to update their hiring standards and perform psych evals on every candidate to make sure that any undiagnosed PTSD cases don’t endanger the public they are supposed to protect.
2) As someone else said, the officers searched, cuffed, and placed the suspect in the vehicle. If he had reason

After hearing the sound of the acorn, the deputy reported that he also felt a “tingliness” all along the side of his body. He then said his “legs just give out” and he fell to the ground, assuming that he had been seriously injured by something.

No shit. Seeing that cop dump his mag into the car, and reading that another cop joined in, and all I can think is whether the poor fucker cuffed in the back lived through it. Even just a link to the source story would have been nice.

It’s the rolling around on the ground saying “I’M HIT!” that did it for me. 🤦‍♂️🤣. This whole situation is honestly terrifying, knowing that these guys are allowed to run around ready to unload magazines of bullets in whatever direction they deem fit.

Holy shit that’s nuts.

So a suspect with both arms behind his back and no weapon fired a weapon aimed directly at the officer.  Florida has some weird physics.

Jackson, who was in the cruiser while under fire, was apparently unharmed - physically. But he likely has severe PTSD from the terrifying experience.
