Maybe. Fox News at least has been hitting the same “Hunter Biden,” “Biden crime family,” and “Biden is old” talking points for years - none of which could apply to Harris (albeit other talking points could). Hell, Biden stepping down after Fox and the GOP have spent years building him up to be some sort of boogeyman

Hilary Clinton was also in the political spotlight for twenty years and was widely disliked as a candidate (though fairly liked in office, from my understanding), giving tons of ammunition to the GOP and Fox News. A late swap with Biden that puts Harris in the spotlight doesn’t give them as much time to drill their

The solution is for Biden to withdraw from the race and endorse Kamala Harris as the DNC candidate so she can use the funds his campaign has already raised, and avoid a contested convention.

There hasn’t been a national election in two years, and there were no other (serious) primary candidates. The Biden campaign is also clearly reacting to the abysmal poll numbers showing that no, Democratic voters aren’t swallowing the “it was just a cold” line.

Of course, replacing a nominee this late in the process is also an unprecedented move, which could easily blow up in their face.

Crikey.

Agreed. Just to reinforce your point, that $370m is worldwide. So you gotta figure the way international distribution works, they don’t get to keep as much of its foreign box office as the domestic take.

I really enjoyed Live. Die. Repeat. I recently rewatched it and it holds up well. I like it a lot.

I can definitely see there being a stigma around only serving one term, though I tend to agree with the people who think Biden is running again because he truly believes he is the only candidate who can defeat Trump a second time. I don’t agree with him, but I think he believes that.

Somewhere she claims “half” the entire city is autistic or on the autism spectrum. That’s burned into my brain.

I can’t speak to how other people feel, but Joe Biden today is not the Joe Biden from 4 years ago. Not to me at least; I only see him on TV and whatnot - which is how most of the country perceives Biden. It’s not that I don’t *like* him, I just don’t think he can beat Trump this time, and 4 years ago he and his

As long as there are alternatives, I don’t think “doing his best” is good enough. We need someone else at the top of the ticket.

I think the British are just fed up with 14 years of conservative rule, which produced Brexit and little to show for it. I’m not sure Sunak’s lies tanked his party as much as their abysmal economy.

Literally has the power to solve the world’s problems, but would rather be playing victim instead.

Nobody said, ‘I love you.’

Sure he is. Anytime he spends watching the show and writing about it is time he’s not writing.

That’s right. Kramer’s pick was the one about the woman in a coma.

I only know Weekend at Bernie’s from Seinfeld. It’s a Kramer pick.

Wouldn’t put it past them, but that’s why I advocate for Kamala Harris to step up to the plate. She’s already on the ticket. I know she isn’t very popular, but her approval ratings still aren’t as low as Biden’s, and she’s not 81.

It’s possible to acknowledge that Biden has been doing the job for four years while being skeptical that he can keep doing the job for four more years. As for conflating his ability to work with his ability to speak, you’re not wrong, but public speaking is part of the job.
