Because of this episode, Porygon, Porygon 2 and Porygon Z have never appeared in the anime since, aside from small cameos. The seizure inducing lights were actually caused by Pikachu though. I guess Porygon took the fall because Nintendo couldn't ban the mascot of their franchise.
