Apparently cats get anxious and depressed if they don’t have any fur to groom.  My daughter’s elderly cat had to be clipped year round for health reasons.  They always left her head, tail, and boots with the furr.

Oh for sure! Genetics definitely plays a role, but I imagine that level of toning is something that requires a great deal of work to accomplish. Work that I’m not really motivated to actually do on most days!

Because people in wheelchairs don’t carry things with them? 

I’m not disabled so I feel bad about saying this, but I’m with you. If you can afford to go out to eat, you can afford to buy a reusable straw. Like, maybe businesses should just sell reusable straws for like $2 a pop or something, like grocery stores do with reusable bags. 

Really? Because I barely ever see styrofoam anymore and have definately noticed that it has been decreasing in use. Most restaurants around me serve takeout food in paper cartons, or more-recyclable plastic containers. The burger I got at the airport last night was served in compostable “egg crate” style paperboard…

But there are plenty of reasons to keep plastic straws around—like the fact that many disabled people rely on them to drink and alternatives like paper straws (which get soggy and fall apart) and metal straws (which don’t bend) may not fit the needs of every person with a disability.

But our sudden preoccupation with plastics straws and ocean waste has me thinking: Wait, HUH?? What is happening?
