I’m kind of a freak for these....I love them so much and it’s out of character, since I’ll go for a salty snack 9.9 times out of 10. My husband makes a great rendition and I ask that he makes them like 3 times a year maximum, because I like my current wardrobe. Dark horse / underdog / deeply underrated cookie.

I’ve convinced myself at different times of both answers :(

Despite trying all the usual tricks to figure it out, I’m still not sure if I’m warm or cool toned. That suggests neutral, I know, but it’s not very helpful to figure out what I might be in the 4 seasons colour system. I loooooove a good pseudo-scientific categorization scheme so this is very disappointing. One thing

The mint (not really recent, but nevertheless) and the coconut thins are both pretty great! I’ll buy those two before I buy the regular.

Most people don’t care about fancy decorations so don’t sweat it.

I wasn’t really sold on this concept because I was thinking of the fluffy, white-flour disks of ‘ehhh’ - I honestly don’t love them and I don’t find them satisfying, but these Kodiak Cakes are intriguing. Kimchijeon was also dinner last night, so if we’re broadening the category to things like that or latkes, sure,

Yuuuuuuum, these are extremely my kind of treat. I was once checking out a bunch of those weird ‘energy food’ products (e.g. the gels marketed for hiking, endurance exercise, etc) and the vegan brands were pretty much just pure dates. Ever since then psychologically, eating dates is both delicious and like a power-up.

It was my birthday recently, and I have a small tradition to eat some oysters for my birthday because I love them. My partner is a vegetarian, so usually we’ll go out someplace that feels like a treat, I’ll get a few for myself to start the meal......but that wasn’t going to happen this year. I was kind of bummed

I feel like when the categories are this broad you’re basically only going to be able to sort out the people who consistently pick the sweets, the meats, and then everybody else who’s all over the place gets ‘ambivert’ (I’m ambivert.)

These look incredibly delicious to me. My mummo, and now my mom, make a very specific array of sandwiches for special events (e.g. baby/wedding showers) and one of my favourites is open-faced egg salad with topped with thin pieces of pickled herring. Since I’m already a freak for the egg/fish combo, let me go see if I

Not just for any weekend....but if it’s a special day and I’ve got the time, pancakes, the kind that I grew up eating.

My manager at work is very enthusiastic about Halloween and earlier today was like ‘feel free to dress up tomorrow!’ Girl, no. I get that the intent was to make things fun, and bless all of you who have energy for this kind of thing but I’m with Harry and Maria, Halloween doesn’t spark joy for me and never really has.

I love the Popeye’s packets. For awhile I’d specifically go food shopping on Tuesdays because there was a franchise next to my grocery store doing the Tues $3.49 2pc special. I’d get a fistful of sauces, eat 4 on my spicy 2pc right there, then take the rest into my purse and office drawer for later use (on pizza,

Pate is intuitive for me as a cultured meat choice because the blending process of the original version already changes the texture of the meat into something very smooth. You can focus on nailing the flavour on its own without the texture issue. This is the same reason why I think veggie hot dogs are better than

This is tangential but it has just occurred to me that there are 3 very good things that I know as pie in Finnish (‘piirakka’) and none of them are what a North American would call a pie. Lihapiirakka (meat pie) are big soft turnovers, like British pasties but with a puffier, almost-savoury-donut-ish dough.

There is a CUP version of these that absolutely blew my ignorant Canadian mind with the degree of thoughtfulness that went into it. First, it came with A UTENSIL (a tiny fork), then the lid had a little strainer so you could drain it easily, THEN there are the multiple seasoning packets mentioned in this

Love it!! I don’t think we’re the only ones....I encountered a band in Toronto named Regular Nature, which is still very funny to me every time I see it.

I’ve never lived outside of Ontario but I grew up in the northwest part of the province, i.e. prairie-adjacent both literally and culturally. Oh my god, I miss Ukrainian food now that I’ve moved south. There was a semi-viral tweet thread not long ago that asked what your culture is, and what’s your heart’s favourite

I never even tried a Twinkie until I was in my 20's.....my reaction was literally ‘oh, so it’s a shitty lune moon?’

If I remember the threads correctly, they meant the restaurant as a whole! I’ve never eaten at an American location so I can’t compare, but Canadian A&W is consistently good (and they carry the Beyond Burger now.)
