I have a pair of velvet loafers I bought extremely cheaply from a brand that’s not Birdies and damn if they’re not my most durable shoes. If it’s raining I don’t wear them obviously, but I wore them almost daily for any sunny day April - October for the first two years, and I still wear them at least weekly 6 years on

I was watching with my partner and another couple and well.....maybe this would be unsurprising to anybody observing this group, but the other woman and I were reeeeeeallly puzzled at Levine’s display and not feeling it at all. Like, I acknowledge intellectually that there are women who like that look, you apparently

Search for the word ‘hakka’ to find it!

So I fall squarely in that demographic described above that’s seeing the fashion of our teen years return and I suddenly feel a little empathetic for my mom. We’re not what I would call close so this is uncommon for me, but I remember her telling me endlessly about how she wore ‘hip hugger bell bottoms’ when she was

I never knew the name of this style and struggled to describe it to someone the other day, so thanks for the timeliness here.

The essential oils MLM are a plague. Even if you’re super against any kind of ‘western medicine’ you know what works on a cough? HONEY. In TEA. That you actually SWALLOW. Not oils on the feet, goddamn.

Oh my god I complained on someone else’s thread about not being able to block the Dirty Projectors, but FJM is also on my immediate skip list. I welcome this feature much more for my aesthetic preferences than my moral quandaries.

Yeah, I hear the argument being made here, but I’m STILL very excited for a block feature because the algorithms have got me all wrong also.

On a day-to-day basis, the way I feel like I’m ‘dressed’ is to have good shoes and earrings. They change the tone of an entire look. A frequent, simple outfit of a grey boatneck tee with black skinny jeans is a grocery shopping outfit if I’m barefaced in Vans....but I’ll wear it to my casual office with big

I read a twitter thread recapping this meltdown and cackled the whole time. Definitely in the same schadenfreude vein.

I had a friend in high school whose family owned a home raclette grill. Not sure how her parents came to own it, but the raclette cheese on boiled potatoes was one of the most memorably delicious things I’d ever had when she casually busted it out at a potluck. I’ve never had it again since,  but I’m pumped to see it

I have strong fruit opinions and I’ve also been drinking a little bit of Afternoon Wine so I made my own version of this xkcd chart and am sharing it now. Please note that I share your opinion about plumcots!!

Also, being a doctor/lawyer takes A LOT of effort, some might even say passion, so her saying that so casually kind of makes me mad? There are tons of folk who put in the time in hefty undergrad programs who STILL don’t get in to these post-grad professional programs. I’ll casually say sometimes that I could have been

They’re like elves, kind of! I’ve also seen it translated as gnome? There are two kinds of joulutonttu decorations that I’ve seen most commonly:

My family always had coloured lights and tbh I prefer white. My tiny bb apartment tree has white lights, and LOTS of them (I feel you Kelly).

I’m acquainted with a lab that works with Catharanthus roseus, which is quite lovely. I happily accepted one as a gift post-experiment. IDK, I get it, better than the birds NOT being used to the fullest potential.

And while you’re getting off my lawn let me assure you that the internet has made things much, much worse.

I almost didn’t recognize Manila in that makeup - has she ever done that white lower liner before? I’d be pleased if either her, Latrice or Monet won....I also feel like I wouldn’t be furious about Trinity or Naomi Smalls....REALLY looking forward to this season!!

I’m a big old hypocrite for judging anyone for sleeping in their makeup, because I almost never take off the eyeliner/mascara I wear daily.........but if I ever wear skin makeup I wash that shit OFF. ASAP. I can’t stand it. COULD NOT IMAGINE sleeping in as much as Kim K.

My school used to run fundraisers where you’d buy pre-made food from a catalog, and for 2-3 years my mom got a tub (maybe 1 kg? it was pretty big) of frozen white chocolate macadamia nut cookie dough. I think we actually baked said cookies twice, tops. Teenage me ate the rest of that dough from the freezer.
