I’m not in the market for doing any MORE than what I’ve agreed to.

I find myself smiling. The most difficult question to answer just arrives as I’m about to stop. I’ll do my best on this, but it’s clearly a huge one.

Thank you. I had fun with it.

Yeah, I think Uber shows the Alan Moore part of me much more than many of my works. Oddly, while it can be read as a deconstruction, that wasn’t its primary intent - but I suspect it’s an unavoidable side-effect.

I love that I’m doing a book with Alan Turing. He’s one of my favourite characters to write.

Thank you!

Thank you.

My proposal for Uber to William was this big 25-30k bible explaining the whole world, its tech, and everything else. There’s details on one of the new enhanced human types that only actually turns up in issue 7 of Invasion, for example. When that’s published it’s going to be nine years since I made that, which is kind

The cold, historian narrator is very much part of Uber’s style. In the Free Comic Book Day issue, we actually do a full issue basically written in the style - in that case, by an Allied historian.

No, the holocaust is very much a part of the universe. It’s very much an alternate history book in its approach. As it starts literally as Berlin is about to fall, the camps have already been discovered.

I was entirely unaware of it until now, and it DOES sound like the sort of thing I’d read. Thanks!

Heh. When Siege was announced, there was a lot of people who went “WHY IS THIS CALLED SIEGE? I DON’T GET IT? IT’S NOTHING TO DO WITH SIEGE.” and while I understood the question, I thought it was funny to do an overliteral explanation, especially after 2 issues of portentous titles.

You’re right - I don’t have one.

If you’re reading the single issues I tend to recommend a bunch of books in the letter at the back. I actually answered something similar on my tumblr earlier. Let me cut and paste...

Sorry it didn’t work for you generally, but I’m glad you liked my stuff :)

Kurt Hathaway does the letters for Uber. And yes, you’re right - they’re definitely tend to be overlooked. In the case of Kurt, I’ve never actually spoken directly - Avatar have their own production system, and William passes everything around.

It’s mainly tongue in cheek, but I’ve an aversion to a lot of unexamined high fantasy tropes. It’s kind of the backlash to having read a lot of High Fantasy as a teenager and having a moment where I went WHAT AM I DOING HERE?

I haven’t and it didn’t. In fact, couldn’t have placed the game if you asked me.

Firstly, thank you.

1) Not really. TV stuff moves at TV time, though we’ve had some fun stuff recently. As soon as there’s anything we can tell, we will.
