Doesn’t look similar at all to what’s in the trailer.

I can say it didn’t look much like the trailer in the article, but I haven’t seen whatever other clips have been released on tiktok. I’d say it’s “highly probable” that the developer saw a chance to get some articles written to promote his game, whether or not it actually influenced the scene in the film.
need to see footage of the fight scene side by side to make my own conclusion. i guess i just feel sort of annoyed because i clicked all 50 hyperlinks in the article and didn’t even see a still shot from the movie.
I know the game was divisive but Shattered Memories had a section that reflected the bullying one of the characters dealt with in their life and I remember it being fairly interesting.
I’m just really glad that a (mostly) single player game is getting huge recognition

i want to believe... o_o
Silent Hill themed with bullying? Sounds interesting
Chet appears to believe Gabe’s feedback was quite valuable, but go off I guess
It seems like Gabe’s objection was more philosophical/conceptual, but from a saturation point he’s also not wrong. That era was rotten with zombies in movies and games. It was a really tiring fad. In my mind, the only reason l4d really shined was because of just how ridiculously well executed it was as a co-op horde…
ODST needed actual rain and stealth, what a disappointment how they teased both and we got neither. Still enjoyed it quite a lot.
ikr. “People shouldnt exploit this case for clicks” and also “we worked long and hard to find a way to write an article about it even though we focus on video games”
Seriously? Kotaku is going to write an article criticizing Twitch streamers covering something THE ENTIRE GOD DAM WORLD IS TALKING ABOUT?!?!?!?!
Wow, I didn’t know you could embed a whole 4 hour Twitch VOD in one of these articles.
343 Just doesn’t seem to learn. Why does everything always have to be “we’re sorry - we’ll make it better”
Okay, real talk, people need to stop posting like this.
In many ways, I feel like the removal of Tracer’s “Over the Shoulder” pose was the wrong move, effectively communicating an unhealthy message about sexuality: Only classically feminine bodies are allowed to be wanted. Smaller women, less curvy women, they are “non-sexual” and shame on you if you find that kind of body…
To be fair, if you look at the financials for the studios they’re selling, they are barely keeping their heads above water. Eidos Montreal had revenue of nearly $100m in FY 22 but their net profit after expenses was around $650k. Crystal Dynamics fared slightly better, but cost about as much to run and their profit…
Finally! Maybe now these tulip bulbs’ll really take off.
