I truly believe that a joint effort between CN and WoC to create a physical series of these cards would explode. I'd play it along with MTG or Pokemon. I think the Oooniverse is fun and interesting enough to sustain a nice trading card game.
PS4 is an excellent piece of hardware, and I would recommend that you do indeed grab one... but after viewing the lineup of releases for the rest of 2014, I'd feel better telling you to hold off till next year. Hopefully you'll get a price drop by then, and some decent games will roll out.
