That's exactly how I feel about it. This show is basically an extremely entertaining advertisement for these queens' acts, and I think that's exactly how RuPaul intends it to be.  They get exposure, they get people interested in them, they get opportunities and connections they wouldn't otherwise have. Less. It is pandering. If a show requires you to have thorough knowledge of a whole other series, you're doing it wrong, unless your goal is to alienate people who didn't watch that other, poorly-rated show. It also ensures that you'll be canceled sooner, rather than later.

I stumbled across one of the episodes by chance one night, and I was just stunned by how weird it was. The Doug guy seemed genuinely pannicked, and everyone just pretty disregarded everything he said. It was weird and creepy, and reminded me of Grant Morrison's run on the Animal Man comic.
