Role playing involves consent and I don't think that this guy gets that.
He’s a 40 year old with a borderline dad bod who became HW champ with a slick old man punch, what’s not to like? The fact that he called Jones out for being a fake good guy and a fraud while Jones was king of the world, and was still gracious in defeat immediately after both losses, only makes me like him more. He’s…
Ugh. Educate yourself on PEDs before making comments like this, please.
If that was the title of the article, I wouldn’t have read it.
This writer has always been a fraud, in my opinion:
I hope this doesn’t come across as too critical, but I don’t quite understand this article. Not the need for it, but rather the purpose. It feels like there is a really interesting story there about the Liberty and how it has been mismanaged, maybe, but it kind of buries that story on a flull piece on Charles. Thus I…
“How is it just that Japan gets to keep their World Cup dream alive and Senegal has to crash out because of a narrow edge in yellow cards?”
Once again, Deadspin claims that using Fair Play is bad without coming up with any alternative. How would you geniuses decide it, huh?
See Orlandu7's post above - while reasonable on its face, this system would unfairly penalize many teams (typically underdogs) whose best chance at winning a game is to adopt a primarily defensive strategy and hope for successful counterattacks.
There’s not currently any penalty for intentionally choosing a style of play that results in fewer possession and shots - for underdogs, it’s often the right strategic call. That would be a pretty major impact to suddenly punish teams for that, and could lead to all sorts of weird incentives (teams suddenly start…
Uh, there is. And they tied 2-2.

I really got to hand it to Terry Crews for coming out about this stuff, and sticking to his guns. It really helps emphasize that this sort of abuse effects everyone, and should be fought against by everyone.
Thanks Terry. <3
My first job after college was working on a locked, in-patient, psychiatric facility in a major city. We were a short-term place for people who were deemed to be a danger to themselves or others.
Ninja Sex Party is unbelievably fucking terrible.
No, it creates a perverse incentive to just plain throw the game and allow a goal, because then you achieve the same result without your players being suspended for the next round.
Exactly what I was gonna say. Punk Rock became safe for them when they started worrying about only playing “big venues”.
Good thing Mike can still support his DIY punk rock lifestyle on the millions of dollars he made through real estate in San Francisco. T
It’s totally punk rock to complain about not playing "big venues". On another note, that joke might've worked if he hadn't added that lame kicker.
