Thank you for writing this, and thank you to Lauren for this article.

I stopped watching in season 3 when it became way beyond preposterous that anybody in the family would still have any contact with Frank... and he’s still around in season 9? Jesus christ.

I wish everybody who ran a red light was immediately in a one-vehicle accident. They deserve it.

I’m going to an Angels-White Sox game this weekend, and I’m tremendously sad. Ohtani is a once-in-a-lifetime player, and I hope he comes back healthy and stronger than ever.

Brandeis grad here. I’m still amazed that anyone could get away with this at a super-liberal school where nobody cares about sports- like, if a number of students have reported that their coach is a racist asshole, why not just get rid of him?

I have no problem with what Joe West did. He had a strict-but-fair reading of the rule, did not eject the player from the game, and immediately contacted the league office to discuss the matter.

Soooooo what’s the recourse for arresting these people? I mean, the two guys could clearly be arrested for trespassing, but what about the woman?

Requesting a trade from the Super Bowl champions and signing with a team that went 0-16 should also be illegal.

I hope he fucking rots in jail.

My dad still uses the DVD service- he has a treadmill to which he attached a small monitor and a DVD player. I don’t know how many people do something like that, but it sure seems like a good use of the service to me.

Dude, it’s in the rule book. If you want to argue that the rule should be changed, go right ahead, but you can’t just stick your fingers in your ears, say “Na na na na I’m not listening,” and pretend the rule doesn’t exist.

As a Braves fan, here is what I would love to see:
- In the rest of this series, don’t go beaning guys. There’s a pennant to win.
- In their first game against Urena next year, put in a reliever for a Urena at bat (in the ~5th - ~7th inning, assuming the game isn’t close) and drill the fucking hell out of him.
- Do it in

Props for using “overseas” and “oversees” in the same paragraph.

Eric’s idea that a 3-ball walk would make a baseball game faster is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.

Vantablack was what the building in the Pyeongchang Olympic Village was made out of, right? I got to see it in person and boy howdy, was it... dark.

This has almost nothing to do with the Braves, to be honest- it’s about an asshole pitcher who happened to hit a Brave. If he had hit Juan Soto, and the Marlins were playing the Nats next week, it would essentially be the exact same story.

As a lifelong Braves fan, I hope they don’t retaliate regardless of who’s pitching. They have a pennant to chase- they don’t need to lose a game or get a pitcher suspended because of a shitbag on a team with crappy players and an even crappier front office.

Until early next season.

The obvious solution is to suspend the guy for 25-30 days but only dock him 5-6 days of pay. Alas, MLB is just as chickenshit as Urena is.

Somebody should hit Keith Hernandez in the back with a 98 MPH fastball- all for the crime of being good at baseball!- and see how he likes it. What a piece of garbage.

There’s a HUGE difference between their abhorrent White Sox coverage that was a solid year of taking the piss (to the delight of very few) and the recent glut of often well-researched articles that happen to be about players on the same team.
