Treating the NASL as a true Division 1 league would significantly dilute the talent pool. Imagine adding 11 teams to MLS all at once! I would love to see promotion and relegation happen in the US, but it clearly isn’t going to happen. If you can accept that, then it certainly makes sense to designate NASL as tier 2.
