OK, but statutory rape IS a legal definition. It doesn’t excuse anything, but is important to note, just as it would be important to note if she was under the age of consent and it was statutory rape.

The Post has to point out the actual age of consent to make it clear she is not accusing someone of a legal crime, just a moral one.
Iron Man wasn’t pre-Marvel Studios. It was the first self-financed Marvel Studios film.
That would be very wrong. “Southern” hip-hop usually refers to the scene that’s been around since the ‘90s with rappers like OutKast and Ludacris (the so-called “dirty south”) and has since morphed further still with recent artists like Migos.
Outkast, Ludacris, TI, Big Krit, 3 6 Mafia, UGK etc
What if you had an aisle seat and breathed through a dryer vent snaked out through the emergency exit? Awkwafina would appreciate that.
I’m incredibly excited to watch this and am rooting for this movie to succeed. I’m a big fan of Kim’s Convenience, a big fan of Simu Liu, a big fan of Awkwafina, and a big fan of the MCU telling more diverse stories.
I like Rom when I was a kid, I think whoever made the toy has had the rights since forever, but his backstory was really cool.
But he wrote a picture book with no pictures!
I’m not being disingenuous at all. Homophobia is bred from “gay panic,” a prejudice-based fear that gay people would try to rape them or their children. It was even somehow a legal defense until just recently in most states (in some I’m pretty sure it still is). These idiots are literally scared of gay people, and…
“Fatphobic?” Is this a thing now? Who’s afraid of fat people? It’s not like we wouldn’t understand “weight comment” in the headline.
I feel like this is overdoing the cataclysmic events a bit much. Thanos already did the snap that killed off half the universe, I think Marvel would benefit from focusing more on the smaller, character-driven stories right now.
Sure he is, the “experiment” is not the movie itself, but the release format. First to theaters, then after 45 days to streaming. This is a huge test for Disney, which is why he framed it that way to the investors.
His job is to make the shareholders money.
It is blindingly obvious the “experiment” is the release schedule and while I sympathise with the actor being sensitive (with justification) to anti-asian prejudice, this kind of knee-jerk outrage only harms the cause - and ultimately, potentially, the film as well. Sometimes something said has no subtext, no hidden…
Seemed the “experiment” was about the release, not the film or those involved being experiments, or whatever this actor is implying. Here I was thinking this comment was totally innocuous, and pretty straight forward, common sense would be able to figure out the meaning, guess not. This seems like a painfully dumb…
“He almost certainly took exception to the label and had every right to do so.”
Yeah, sorry, but on this one I have to “side” with the executive. He used the term experiment to refer to the movie’s 45 day release window. That’s all he was referring to. Not the Asian cast, not its position as the next big MCU film, not thefat tbat it’s a new character. From all reports, he was only talking about…
Sorry, it just had to be done...
I mean:
