@dismantledwoman: Except us Libertarians get slammed as crazy by you guys all the time, even though (most) of us believe in the natural right to govern one's own body according to one's own beliefs.
@dismantledwoman: Except us Libertarians get slammed as crazy by you guys all the time, even though (most) of us believe in the natural right to govern one's own body according to one's own beliefs.
@GeorgeFayne: Teabaggers != Libertarians . I'm just as bothered by this as you guys are.
@laureltreedaphne: Maybe if the Disney cartel hadn't been successful in pretty much infinitely increasing the time works remain in copyright Google wouldn't have to resort to such things.
@marks-alot: Well, you're assuming that Obama was meant to make all of these "changes" that you want. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, owing their political power to the people funding them behind the scenes. Rahm did his job with his incessant calls to "hope and change" and change for change's sake.
@Questioning Everything (stopped WashingMyHair): Sucks when you figure out The New Guy is the same as The Old Guy, and that they were both really run by the same people behind the scenes doesn't it? Doesn't all that hope and change feel so good now?
And people think we Libertarians are crazy when we say both sides of the aisle are exactly the same. Obama isn't looking so hot nowadays is he? I just wish the margin in the Senate on the Democratic side was smaller so that instead of this horrible bill we'd get no bill.
@MalinaMango: No, it means the rational Libertarian ones actually go where they belong, to the Libertarian party; maybe we can actually get some backing now.
@AuburnPonytail: Because its an end run around how things are supposed to work in Congress. Its a way to pretty much get anything you want passed without any hope of debate or a vote on the matter.
@WashingMyHair: We left the party and became Libertarians a long time ago. The only people left are neo-cons and the crazy Palin-ites. #politricks
@SarahMC: Yes unfortunately you are all too correct. I don't personally consider the republicans allies anymore...
@stacyinbean: If you check out some of my later comments I do believe I went into some of the objections I have against the whole health care debacle.
@SarahMC: He tricked me the first time but I learned my lesson after examining what he did in office. I had to go out into the wilderness to find a political party that allowed me to be a lot more liberal on social ideas and yet still a fiscal conservative.
@SarahMC: The radical expansion of the federal government's role in the daily lives of American citizens that his Administration represents.
@Penny: I would've thought the word "Libertarian" would have summed it up pretty well :)
@SarahMC: I understand what you are saying, but I can't tell you how many times in the last couple months I've openly stated that I objected to this Administrations policies and been outright called a racist by the people around me. And never once did I mention any of those things that you rightly consider…
I'm getting so sick of this meme coming from the left that anyone who expresses objections or misgivings about the President's attempted reforms and such are automatically racists.
@PoisonPixie: separate religion (all religions) from governance.
@dirtybee: except learning, achievement, and the drive to become better start with parents and their support at home. If you're an educated person, odds are you will stress the importance of achievement and education to your children, and I think that's what the author was getting at.
Man I had to do a doubletake on the picture ya'll put up here, its almost the exact same pic i took a few years ago when i was up there for cherry blossom season..check it out here: [spinaltap.smugmug.com]
@nessalicious: Just as a point of order, they're not free. Someone is paying for them somewhere out of taxes appropriated from their earnings. Its just this way you can't see how much you're paying and how much the government is taking from you.
