Everyone remember to search and replace “kid” with “pet.” All of this applies to your pup too.

Wow, it’s freaking nuts your recommending this as something a do it yourselfer should slap off in a couple hours.
Fun fact: “scientifically validated,” isn’t a thing. It’s a wonderfully ambiguous claim you can make regardless of a lack of evidence, or in this case, using bad evidence.

As someone who works at a university these days, I’m going to add (at various times pre semester):
Check vaccination requirements. Some countries/states/schools/programs have requirements that are stricter than others. Don’t want to be in a panic trying to get your MMR because you grew up with crunchy nutball parents.
Ta…
The better bet? Getting a decent quality toaster oven with a convection setting. Does what an air fryer does just as well, makes toast, and can act as a substitute oven for when you want to cook a small batch of something. We found a brand of take and bake pizza that exactly fits ours and it has been brilliant.
“Sure, there are better and safer ways to do [task], but have you tried making it harder or doing it in a way that won’t work as well using [random household item].”
Came here to say some version of this.
One small issue with the “humble bragging,” section is, what if it’s honestly not humble bragging?
Halfish of these are style notes that would depend on register and the requirements of the place you’re writing. “Mistakes,” is an overstatement.
Super anecdotally, from a man who is about to turn forty, I and lots of my friends are doing stuff that could seem midlife crisis like. Two are headed back to school, there are lots of new hobbies in my social group, a couple of major moves cross country or overseas. But, I think Beth probably has the right of it that…
Mostly just don’t. Be nice and welcoming, like you should be at literally every other location you go, but leave people be. Leave the “helping,” to the staff at the gym.
“Actually,”
Some solid class in the grays . . .
Obligatory reminder: Tipping is part of the pay structure for human beings who need to survive, not your cutsie way of making a point. If there is no fire at your table, and no one is served Drano, you need to leave a real tip. No boomers, it is not a reward for exceptional service; it is the way a few insane…
It really is exceedingly easy to cut one check a year and have a lot more control over the issue. Plus, a local grocery store where I live donates to a Christian organization that has an arm that is basically just a hate group, and I can’t imagine they’re the only store sending my donations to charities that are…
Good list, but Tunic? I feel like people have practically been following me around telling me how great that game is. I don’t know if it’s all that overlooked.
Cool, I may look into those, thanks.
Disappointing. When I read “live tree,” I thought the meaning was something potable I could grow and reuse each year rather than chop down a new tree annually. What you have there is the best kinds of dead tree to have as a Christmas tree (not a judgment, I do a dead tree most years).
What a ridiculous and annoying narrative.
Way to be a part of the problem . . .
Just a reminder for the grays. Doing things that are good for your constituents is not “buying,” anyone’s vote; it’s literally their F’ing job.
