Well, most of the woes are to do with the pentagon it knowing what they ordered, not the F-35. I know Lockheed did not pitch it as a replacement for the F-22 or the A-10.

I realized I was old when I understood that I was the only one that remembered Bill Nye being a comedian on (I think the show was) Almost Live. He was funny. He was the science guy there too, but it was just a sketch. Somehow that turned into a real thing that he's known for.

A total bargain considering the thing empty's its drum in less than 20 seconds. That means you can fill it up three times for 1,200 bucks! A single JDAM cost 20k and that is considered cheap for precision weaponry. Hellfire runs between 50-70k each depending on how you calc it.
