Yeah, I’ve taken a number of history classes, most of which I’ve done reasonably well in, and here is something I’ve never heard from an instructor:

Racism in the north is definitely more subtle, but just as bad. It’s “I have to move to the suburbs because the schools in the city are so bad” with the unspoken-but-implied part being “because they’re full of children of color.”

Oh god, just reading about the women being probed while all on fours and held down while being butchered without anesthesia made me clench my vaginal muscles and bite down on my lip to keep myself from crying out. Goddamn.

Actions matter more than thoughts or words. If you voted for a racist administration because you wanted tax cuts your actions are just as racist as someone who voted for them because they hate black people.
