It is strange how other countries amend their constitutions every decade, but USA treats its constitution as some kind of infallible holy gospel. Though those amendments usually require supermajority, and in a deeply divided two party system, that’s just not going to ever be a reality.

I push the automatic door buttons when there’s someone walking just far enough behind me that they fall into that weird range where you don’t know whether or not you need to hold the door for them. It’s a good way to be polite without having to look at the person.

Wet brining was supposed to be OUT this year according to all the magazines and celebrity chefs. I still threw a damned bird into salt/sugar water last week.

Agreed, frying is faster, but it’s still just too dang hot for something that is roughly 0% fat.

We needn’t be shackled to a specific dish if no one likes it; if everyone agrees pizza is the way to go (homemade, at least, i hope), so be it. On the otherhand, dry turkey isn’t a necessity!

For what it’s worth, I brined my turkey this year. Only for 6 hours the morning of. And it wasn’t dry.

LGO is missing the point. Thanksgiving IS A BIG PRODUCTION. That’s pretty much what it is all about. The people that want to make it easier are cop-outs.

Even better is traveling to another country. Then you can go out to eat and feel no guilt over making someone work on the holiday, since they don’t even celebrate it.
