I've been pretty uncreative lately. I finally finished an Evenstar Shawl and after that I was DONE with knitting for awhile. Bought a loom and wove a few scarves, but apparently I've used up all my creative juices, so I just watch classic films while doing Fill-a-Pix puzzles.

I was raised in a pretty religiously strict household, but one thing I"ll always be grateful for is that my mom never tried to control what I read. Was a lot of it trash? Sure, it was! But I developed a lifetime love of reading.

I was wandering through the Kids' section at the bookstore awhile back, and noting how EVERY DAMN YA BOOK was a fantasy. Now, I read a fair amount of fantasy myself, but when I was a kid it was mostly mysteries, which taught me to think in a clear and logical way.

Apparently younger people are reading more than we Boomers did, but it's mostly due to the Internet.
