Emily is great.

I’m working on a paper about medicine and science in 20th century genre movies, and it turns out that I've been walking around with lots of mental references from Mystery Science Theater.

Little wing-ed potatoes.

Same, since I got sick one day in 5th grade and stayed home from school, channel surfing until I hit Comedy Central. I almost thought I was hallucinating what I saw, but immediately I start laughing my ass off. Of course, it was Pod People.

I’ll be honest, this is one of those times where I assumed they’d died years ago. Killing Paulie offscreen in Creed definitely had me thinking it.

The decision to cast Chase was 100% justified by his performance in the Dungeons and Dragons episode alone. After that, he could have simply disappeared and the show wouldn’t have missed a step.

He should be in everything, everywhere, simultaneously.

Thank God someone thought of the children and made all these fairy tale characters public domain. What a hero. Now we’re finally free to use Snow White and the Big Bad Wolf as characters in our own works.

Nice. So I’ll enjoy my smoothie and have a cup of tea later. Perfect.

Who taught this child this kind of hatred and what did they think would happen if he ever acted on his teachings? Now two lives are lost!

*gasp* my mom was a guest on Dark Shadows. I’ll have to find that episode(s)

Watched it last night. I am ultra burnt out on Marvel movies, but these animated Spider Man flicks have both been great. They feel really authentic, like the people working on them wanted to make something special. I loved whenever the background got really abstract.

My son just researched these and discovered that the binoculars and the camera are separate (note the three lenses in front views.) So the 12X magnification is irrelevant if you’re snapping photos. Caveat emptor and all that.

That’s a reason for more people to unionize and fight for better wages, not an argument against this action

It’s funny, I completely misread the headline when I opened up this article. I thought that was his defense (“It couldn’t have been me because black men don’t do that kind of thing”), which is hilariously dumb but kind of what you expect from someone that abducts women to lock in his basement. The fact that this

You don’t withdraw from your retirement accounts to pay off debts, you take out a 401k loan and pay yourself back.
It’s definitely important to make sure you’ve fixed the bad habits that put you in that situation but I highly encourage people with high APR% debt that have healthy 401k balances to look into a 401k

So I’m thinking I should wait until I can watch it at home, that way I can first watch 1992's Bram Stoker’s Dracula, pause it when he’s placed on the ship, watch this one and then unpause it after it comes into harbor for the full experience.

Absolutely!  And I’m definitely planning to watch the movie, I’d just be more excited if they weren’t telegraphing the ending.  A movie about a completely doomed crew fighting to the last against an unstoppable evil is far more compelling to me.
