It’s one of two movies (the other being Galaxy Quest) that I always turn to when I need cheering up.

Cable is dying. Streaming is the present and, I hope, the future.

Any idiot can cut costs. REAL execs work to increase a company’s value, not strip it.

This is something we’ve seen a lot of over they decades. It’s hitting entertainment pretty hard right now, which is why we’re noticing. It hit retail stores hard a few years ago, now it’s TV and movie’s turn.

Hell, I got Sims 3 for $5 back in the day, and then ended up spending Iamnotgonnatellyahowmuch for new neighborhoods and expansions.

I refused to play Sims 4 for that very reason. I’m not getting sucked in again, nope nope nope.

I’m laughing my head off at all the grays going, ‘THE FRIDGE HAS GERMS IN IT TOO!!1!!11!’

Yes, kiddies. But think a minute - if you have food or beverage that you want to keep fresh and safe for more than a couple of hours, do you put it in the fridge or leave it in the sun?

SMH

All plants contain sugar - that’s what photosynthesis is, turing CO2 into sugars. It might be a miniscule amount, but there is definitely sugar in there.

Also, meat doesn’t contain sugar, but I’m sure you don’t leave your raw chicken out to let the sun cook it. Once again, the equation is not sugar+bacteria, it’s

It’s really easy to brew tea in the fridge, so why even take a chance? Bacteria grows lots of places that have no sugar added (if you store your tea in a damp or humid area, stuff’s gonna grow on it, for sure). The formula isn’t sugar+water, it’s organics+water

Life finds a way.

They used to stream TCM content through Warner Archive. WA and Criterion then jointly ran streaming service Filmstruck, which got killed and Criterion is now going it alone.

There really does need to be a dedicated TCM streaming service separate from the cable network.

There’s a Roku app called Retro Reels that’s pretty

I think the idea that Utopia is always a WIP is not contrary to Roddenberry’s vision. The Federation is made up of people, and people will always be flawed - we all need someone to tell us when we’re wrong.

It can always get better - and I find that idea both true and comforting. Progress never ends until the heat

I’m kind of ‘meh’ about Disco season 1 and a bit better about season 2 - the introduction of Pike definitely being the highlight. Hated season 3 with a passion and haven’t watched it since.

‘The Cage’ takes place several years before these events, so no, Una does not have plot armor. (Except for the fact of her appearing in the trailer for season 2)

Nor is she still on the Enterprise during the events of ‘The Menagerie’.

[Pike was briefly reunited with Vena during his time on Discovery]

LOL. Dude can’t read.

Typical.

My snark was aimed at the article - I was actually agreeing with you.

But it’s amusing to think we have enough of a relationship that I’d try to pigeonhole you.

My first thought, too. You’re replacing machine labor with manual labor.

But it would be mostly women’s labor, and we all know that doesn’t count, right?

‘Distant Bloom’ was my favorite and the game I’m most anxious to see come out eventually.

If you’ve played ‘Waking Mars’ it has that vibe - you’re restoring a failed ecosystem - but much more beautiful and with what looks like a deeper story.

‘While the Iron is Hot’ also deserves mention - a peaceful crafting sim that

Clutches pearls. Puts back of wrist to forehead.

Dude, all your whining about how terrible black people are just tells us more about yourself than anything else.

The Spider-Gwen comic had S-G meeting ‘original’ Gwen and creating another timeline where OG didn’t die, but became a dimension traveler organizing a ‘Council of Spiderwomen’ - Gwens from the few universes where Gwen survived but then failed to further explore the idea

I’m happy that the movies might be picking up that

Do you really read with your arms extended over your head?

No wonder your arms get tired.

How I read: on my side; on my back with my elbows resting on the mattress or on the pillow; on my back with the book resting on my stomach

I used to read on my stomach with the book on the pillow, but that’s not comfortable anymore

Um, because they don’t?

I’m pretty much always reclining while I read.

That’s my choice!

2nd choice: anything from ‘Eat, Drink, Man, Woman’.
