As a dude, it is very noticeable when I see a women who can walk in heels, and it is awesome. Keep rocking them.

Yeah, but this still doesn’t explain why my ideas sound dumber when I hear them played back to me.

I’m a little surprised that Manufacturing is at all competitive...maybe I’ve been holed up in blue-collar shops too long. The only category-leading benefit I get in manufacturing is nearly unlimited access to used pallets! I think my family is getting tired of crappy picture frames and wine racks for Christmas...

Well I’m now rotting in federal prison for shipping Zima to a buddy and I COULD HAVE USED THIS A YEAR AND A HALF AGO.

Holy cow you have an eye. Awesome aircraft too.

Show a little respect - ChrisCicc is the 2nd most popular comment thread. I think he’s pretty high up there already.

Pedant here: steel hones. Technically doesn’t sharpen.

First, make a basil gin gimlet, then eat this delicious ice cream:

The only overlap with my diaper bag is the gin.

Okay, 4 weeks makes sense! I’m not THAT impatient. Thanks, and good luck!

I’m going to try it, but it gives me little faith in the data to see just 411 data points for a position as broad add Project Manager. By the time I filter by industry, region, company size, etc. there might not be anything left!

One note on countermeasures: lasers may not be a great countermeasure for hypersonic vehicles. Already equipped to handle high heat and moving at Mach 6 may put a target out of range before a laser can make a dent.

I love the alternative approaches you list: “quantity has a quality of its own". We don’t always need the sexiest tech when a cheap swarm will do.

As a big fan of Nolet’s Gin, I always appreciated the arrogance of their “recipe” attached to the bottle, paraphrased:

Whatever man, you don’t know what you’re talking about! Just kidding, you really know what you’re talking about and you convinced me not to do this after work today...

Exactly! My personal consulting rate is $1000/hr because I am super-skilled. Though for some reason I only consult for local charities...

Having come off my first contract negotiation in the business world, this would have been a nice tactic early on to create a pivot point in the conversations. Spent too much time trying to respond kindly to low-ball offers, only to threaten a walk-out when it was too late to save the negotiation professionally :(

Not sure if sarcastic or not? Machining is ripe for automation or replacement (i.e. 3D printing for certain applications). The lack of qualified machinists would be the #1 driving factor for justifying automation...But, I agree that prototypes and low-rate government contracts are about the best of all manufacturing

McCain is willfully native in thinking that firm fixed price is an appropriate contact type for this development effort...And stupid to suggest that it would solely control costs. Government program offices failing to manage scope is what allows inflated costs and gives the contractor all the scope changes needed to

My two kids have shown a strong correlation between teething episodes and watery diarrhea that leaves the worst diaper rash... Not sure this particular meta analysis will change my parenting, but interesting to see.
