I think everyone would be pleased to hear that General Atomics was given a definitized contract on 6/12 to start building EMALS/AAG on CVN 79!

I agree that the initial bank would have more barfies near the wingtips, but wouldn’t it feel equally comfortable once in a coordinated turn? And could the banking barfies be cancelled out by having fewer pitching barfies (like at the front and back of traditional tube planes)?

Agreed and, equally notable, not even 100% effective since the blade may not bend enough to yield when hit against a flat surface.

It astounds me that Hollywood didn’t produce more cinematic vehicles for the Lundgren/Langella powerhouse.

Reciprocating saw is my scary tool. Although, I don’t own an angle grinder...yet.

Thanks for the details! I’m going to try this!

Grinding, you say? I bought and used them them whole. Would smashing get the desired effect? I don’t think I have a good grinder that doesn’t taste like coffee!

Any tips on maximizing sichuan peppercorn flavor? I first had them in China on a work trip, and thought they were awesome. I bought some on Amazon and they just didn’t have any of the “kick” I was expecting. Do they mellow with age? Did I not treat them right in my sauteed green beans?

It’s always cool to run down to Harbor Freight with a 20% off coupon!

This is pretty sweet. Combine this with a bug fix so that my Moto X can receive MMS, and we’ll have a deal! (had to switch to Textra to get MMS...)

I hear the Army is developing a secret Quad-Quad chart. You can get 16 slides on one screen...Devastating!

I like the spread of methods, but can we normalize the results by number of hamstring pulls I’m willing to suffer? I’d like to save time with Tabata if I can keep muscle pulls per week under 3.0...

Women can buy back all this money on golf equipment! Men's equipment often carries a higher margin even though women's equipment is much lower volume. That being said, lady clubs and golf balls often use cheaper designs and manufacturing methods - depending on the brand.

Holy hell. Sure I get your point here but you're playing semantic games. Good enough IS good enough. Reflexive property?!

Yes, a Venn diagram comes to mind. You and your company have plenty of overlapping interests. You just have to maintain awareness and be prepared when they don't overlap. It doesn't have to be a good vs. evil thing, it just is.

Taking this one data point you've provided, you seem like a bad person who probably deserved whatever "mistreatment" HR foisted upon you.

Perfect point. I just saw this interviewing a candidate earlier this week, and he couldn't pivot from we to I when pressed for his contributions. "We" is fine for a summary - "I" for the specifics!

Outstanding choice of words!

Ford-class Carrier is one huge example of pivoting towards more flexible asymmetric warfare (while retaining Murica's capital ship badassery) - ability to launch a bazillion networked UCAVs can make for one hell of a point defense against small boat swarms.

You bring someone very specific examples into the discussion!
