How about no screens! It’s *way* easier to do these things safely (without looking at stuff other than the road) when you have physical controls. Voice recognition doesn’t count, cars are loud and computers are still very stupid.
The US needs to get rid of that requirement - I’m sorry to sound heartless but the assumption needs to be that someone is wearing their seatbelt. If you choose not to wear your seatbelt, well... you know.
