Hell, Scott Crossfield (well the actor who played him, obviously) went on to become, among many many many other roles, Hershel from The Walking Dead, while another of Yeager's rivals early in the film was the dad from Boy Meets World. What a loaded cast.

Holy shit, he did both of those movies? Wow. I had no idea his resume was so impressive.

It's funny, just last week I began reading Tom Wolfe's book on which the movie is based, in large part because Shepard was so good as Chuck Yeager that I wanted more of that person.
