Oh man, I see so much overlap in Katee Sackhoff’s Starbuck and Carol Danvers. She would have almost been too good a pick.
I literally used the same image from the top of the article.
That’s her talking with the Avengers about Thanos.
Credit where credit is due: Her interaction with Peter Parker, and the smirk she delivers there? Totally gets me every time. Love it. I can’t wait to see more of those two together in the future (fingers crossed).
The “looking for reasons not to like a character...” response has become a lazy cliche here on io9 and it’s honestly touched a nerve. Whenever someone doesn’t gel with the circlejerk, that card gets played. Saw it with anybody who criticized The Last Jedi (“you just hate women/minorities/diversity/etc.”), and sadly I k…
Just saying, I too have seen that same face when people are angry. Or when they see somebody do something super cringey. Or when their cat leaps out at them from nowhere. And when they saw the big reveal in the Prestige for the first time. And so on.
Just want to see if I’m getting the gist of your argument here:
You and I remember Captain Marvel quite differently.
I really like Brie Larson in everything else I’ve seen her in (she was awesome as Abed’s girlfriend in Community, and I’ve taken note of her anywhere else I’ve seen her since).
Totally fair. I just don’t believe GOTG3 will be the last one in that series.
After Ragnarok, that’s exactly what I want. But to be clear, I want it for just the one movie (GotG3), which I hope can propel Thor onto a new trajectory of his own. A stepping stone for a new Thor arc.
I agree with all that.
Quill’s story arc is pretty much done
If you’re going for the premium experience, yeah, absolutely, that tracks.
Oh wow, I’m actually genuinely curious about this movie now.
This whole thing feels like a giant fucking reach in order to go “poor me”/”this is an attack on muh culture”. GTFO here.
It may not be, but it should be.
Totally killed whatever interest I had.
I had two main comic series I followed when I was a kid. Spider-Man and X-Men. Amazing/Uncanny/Spectacular, didn’t matter. Spider-Man and X-Men. Those were my jams.
