It’s a failure on all fronts!

While I agree with many of your points....

I always say this is one of the many, many failings of Mass Effect Andromeda. First game in the series to go open world, and it generally went something like this:

Even if you have “good internet”, location is a huge factor as well.

I randomly started replaying the game (SOTN) just this weekend for the first time in maybe 10 years, and man, it holds up really well.

No, I went in really wanting to love it. Bought the special edition, bought the hype, went in really wanting it to be great.

I’ll be more than happy to be proven wrong and to find that there’s an awesome new service entering the market with great things to watch. However, my gut reaction right now is....

No, it wasn’t just “outrage culture”. This was a deliberate campaign from the alt-right, spearheaded by Mike Cernovich, and used in deliberate bad faith for retaliation against Hollywood and the “left” because they were mad that Roseanne Barr was fired from her own show for being a piece of shit.

While not essential to the experience, I think some of them can be great. Depends on the game and the community though. I tend to visit them to enhance my enjoyment of the game and learn things I didn’t know about them, be it strategies, insights, lore, etc.

Gaming subreddits are generally the alternative to a developer/publisher’s moderated forums. Good luck dropping criticism on an EA game on an EA forum - it will be removed and you will be banned. I was really gungho for Anthem and really hoped it would be the game I wanted it to be. I got in on it early with the Origin Premiere stuff and everything.

Apex Legends got ruined in two ways for me very quickly.
