Probably because Hermione was still wet in the wedge for Krum. She couldn't truly love Ron, not with Viktor on her mind.

The real tragedy here is having to re-listen to the Sam Smith song. I have such a visceral dislike for it that I don't actually hear how they're similar. Instead, I just hear whiney Sam Smith and want to turn it off immediately.
