No school class stands out (the last one was well more than 30 years ago) but more recently, Toastmasters. I didn't actually join for the public speaking, but now that I'm deeply involved in our local Transition Town group and speaking to Chamber of Commerce, Council, etc, it's made a big difference.

Looks like they have a sheet of glass on the countertop, on top of the LEGO pieces. Imagine trying to clean it if it was just the bricks with all the cracks between them.

I just got a "not a valid install package" too.

Yup, that's a cold frame. Wonderful things, I've built several out of assorted reused materials. A mini greenhouse is usually the term for those shelf units with a plastic cover that you can buy off the shelf - also useful but they overheat very quickly and can blow over very easily.

I'm a happy Zenni optical customer, with a weird prescription - they emailed me back to make sure it was correct. Glasses when they came were perfect, and compared to $600 locally, $25 looked pretty darn good. The only downside for me was that Canada Customs held on to them for 3 weeks before sending them on to me.

Ditto on the hairdryer. Hairdryer and knifeblade also work for getting unwanted layers of packing tape off, or price tags. Price tags are better done just using the hairdryer if you don't want to damage the box.

@kevinw1: Correction: the Dreamhost offer still works as of 20 mins ago.

Wish I'd known about this one in time for the Dreamhost offer a few days ago!

My old and dearly departed Lite-On SK 7100 Airboard. Wireless and had a superb mini-joystick type pointing device built in. It saved my wrists.

@A2JC4life, I just fold them up, butter side in, and put them in one of my fridge door bins. You could also reuse a plastic box from the bakery or deli to keep them in. I admit that sometimes I do get an oversupply of them and have to get rid of a few!

Old plastic miniblinds make excellent plant labels, large or small. If you write with pencil you can erase and reuse indefinitely.
