In her defense, we've seen that Rebecca doesn't really give a crap who dies. Two less mouths to feed…

The silliest thing is that Skater Dude went outside for no particular reason at all.

That's why Nora wanted his phone, to look up the German guy's number. But she may have forgotten about it after later events.

Nora was traumatized by the killing of Captain Redfern, and by the autopsy. That's why she kept saying it was self defense - she was trying to convince herself it was unavoidable. She's in a state of cognitive dissonance, rebelling against what her senses are telling her, and hasn't had to time to work through it yet.

Her character didn't make any sense at all.

That whole subplot was a clunker.

Nora feels realistic to me. It's been maybe two days since this started and she hasn't had time to think anything through. It's a situation that goes against her training and inclination because she really doesn't want to kill people. Nothing wrong with that 99.9% of the time.

Wait. You're not making this up?

The ATFEC is treating cultists the same way Dean has been teaching Kevin to treat stray dogs. "They're not our dogs anymore."

Yep. "Neil" must be somebody that Patti really dislikes.

I think there was a through line from the government agent's phone call to what Kevin did at the dry cleaners. When the ATFC agent confided to him (because he was a fellow authority figure) that they were essentially sending death squads to wipe out cults all over the country, it shook Kevin's already shaky faith that

Yeah, Amy Brenneman is doing a great job, as is Ann Dowd. Part of what makes the Guilty Remnant so frustrating to watch is *because* they've cast such great actresses in the GR roles. We see Brenneman struggling with some kind of terrible inner conflict, but have no idea why.

It's weird how they won't explain themselves (in writing), but I don't think everyone is supposed to join the cult. In the pilot we saw that the GR compiles creepy intelligence reports on potential "subjects" that are distributed to the recruiters. (The report Laurie saw on Megan even had surveillance photographs!)

Y'know, the law books are still in city hall. Just sitting there, waiting to be read. But they seem to have decided that Chester's Mill is no longer part of the United States.

Under The Dome is much more fun to watch than The Following, because it doesn't have a bitter, nihilistic core. It's trying to get across positive messages about how communities need to pull together and not dose each other with pig viruses, or how its okay to fall in love with the man who killed your husband - but

Oh yeah, when was that… A week and a half ago?

Correct. He knows about the Hands because he was one, and he recognized Angie from the (surprisingly lifelike, considering the artist) picture in the journal. Sam probably thinks that killing Melanie was what prevented the dome from coming down in '88.

It would be funny if her backstory keeps changing and no one notices. "I don't want them to suffer like my Mom suffered when she accidentally injected herself with polio."

No, Phil isn't dead. Barbie conspicuously shot him in the right shoulder, far from any major organs.

Totally! When Sam was hovering over Junior with the pillow clutched in his hands, indecision creasing his face, I actually shouted "Do it!" at the TV. This dome has made me into a monster.
