EA and Blizzard already do that, though - it’s really nothing new. Companies having their own launcher/store isn’t a big deal. Now, if Rockstar starts paying third party publishers/developers for exclusive rights to sell those games too, THEN you’ll probably see a hue and cry.

I think it’s a build error when the designer was putting the house together.  The door was probably there, and then they did something with the scale of the house and it shifted everything.  Deleting the door and leaving the steps one block away from the house, instead of attached.
