Oh, sure, it all SOUNDS easy, PC Part picker is good for not buying anything that won’t play well together, and everything has it’s own little spot - CPU goes into the CPU slot, video card goes into the video card slot. I’ve even heard tales that you don’t need to pair up ram anymore. That may or may not be true.

What CPU and mobo did you go with?

That or the Steam refund.

The doom demo actually got me to buy the game. I would love to see more demos.

I still have the box. This is the game that taught me not to buy MMOs at launch. I played the game for a total of 10 hours, kept the box for nearly 16 years now.

Are you just promoting this because you’re sleeping with the author?

Except for NewEgg who has it for $30 today. Promo code EMCRCBG36. Free shipping.

I’m in the complete opposite camp. I haven’t played nor cared about any previous COD game, chalking them all up to “just another military shooter”. When I saw the sci-fi setting of this one, though, I was instantly interested. This is the first COD game I’ve considered purchasing.

Oh, there was still some spectacle. Even during the ‘93 Summer CES, Nintendo’s booth was a lot of fun. The Super Mario Brothers movie had just come out, and Nintendo was hyping it like crazy. Life-size movie goombas were walking around, handing out movie swag. There were mock race karts you could sit in and play

No kidding. At 6 years I still get woken up in the middle of the night 1-2 nights per week. Sleeping through the night after a few weeks is super lucky.

Crusader was my jam! Seriously underappreciated game. I just wish the controls held up.

Yeah, in looking at the last six reviews, only Fahey (Fahey!) took it seriously.

Thanks for the snack information. You’re a really great informer.

I had a chance to see the 16-bit version someone was working on back in 93. It wasn’t great either. Not surprised it was never released.

“VIII: whatever”

We’ve started giving gift cards to kids because the flip side of this is that it gives them freedom to purchase what they want. Sometimes that agency over their own money is better than the money itself.

Thanks guys, that’s exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. You’ve talked me into getting the pro. Followup question (for anyone who knows): I’m very interested in the FF15 60fps version. It should be a patch to the existing game, right? I don’t expect they’ll have two SKU’s, will they? So my hope is

MOVIE SPOILER

I also agree with Daemon, and if you’re interested in fiction, I’d also recommend “Reamde” by Neal Stephenson.
