The LS400 is supposed to be great at this, and probably attainable for most of us (The first and second gens at least). I would imagine lower maintenance/maintenance costs compared to a BMW or Audi, etc. as well.

Ah this is true. I always forget about pushrods. I'm used to a DOHC v6 with a 7300RPM fuel cut off.

6600 RPM fuel cut off seems a little low in this day and age, but I suppose it doesn't need to rev to 8000 RPM to makes it's power.
