“Fair use” does not give you a lot of protection in marketing materials like a trailer. The “Joker” logo here is a red-flag, likewise the (likely unlicensed) quote from Steve Miller’s song “The Joker”. Neither of these elements would get a thumbs up from a lawyer.

“Law & Order” - at least early on - was basically “let’s read the Post and Daily News headlines and make a story that’s kinda the same thing.”

Rowling is awkwardly trying to negotiate emerging social mores with complex, often arbitrary “rules” that are impossible to decipher. The only people who seem to have a deep understanding of the situation are the indignant and self-righteous. Anyone who questions this sort of thing is doomed by a pitchfork wielding

#Edit_Fail “...the quintessential Dylan [song] is “Rebel”...” (There does not appear to be any known Dylan song with that title.)

I think Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. still owns the Post. Kushner’s New York Observer was actually kinda cool.

“Cancel culture” seems pretty real as far as I can see. I think the debate is whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing. I’m guessing Louie thinks it’s a bad thing.

Nah. Owen Kline’s been doing stuff you haven’t seen for years. He could have easily done the acting thing and leap-frogged over a lot of folks because of his parent’s fame.

“Vengeance” is an After School Special of the “can’t-we-all-just-get-along?” variety (or maybe that Star Trek episode with Frank Gorshin as the black and white guy.) Kutcher is actually the highlight even if his role is like someone that walked in from another movie. There are some wildly

“The Royal Albert Hall Concert” was released on vinyl in 1980. Only problem was after it came out they realized the tapes were actually recorded in Oakland that same year. The LP was renamed “The Concert”.

You don’t need a job...especially a job where nobody notices you are doing the “bare minimum.” You need to earn money. There are myriad ways to do that. Don’t accept the paradigm of good grades/good school/corporate drone/marriage/kids/death.

This kinda click-bait thing is more damaging than anything it’s supposedly correcting. The bulk of the article is “you are OK” because that thing on Google is wrong. And that’s probably accurate for most of the population. Yet, this “article” reads like something propelled by potentially juicy key words at the

This. And charging interest seems a bit icky. There’s nothing moral or ethical about profiting off your friends or family.

I can certainly understand...” is not a great point of view for a journalist.

That’s just a list of stuff we have to Google.

I don’t know if a 40-year old is considered “geriatric.”

Not every cop has a badge number. And most people don’t have a lawyer they can call.

Yes. This is exactly what I needed for the boring, grocery store Blue Cheese dressing I always seem to have in the fridge.

The New York Times did a very careful piece on Schneider in June. It had all the earmarks of being put through a battalion of lawyers and damage-control publicists.

I thought the same thing...but now I realize it does not say she turned down the hush money.
